Toby Lake - 160 Acres of Heaven

Location:
This expansive 160-acre lake is located just 1 hour SW of Oklahoma City, nestled on a massive Oklahoma ranch. The lake offers an exceptional fishing experience on one of the largest and most serene bodies of water in the area.

Lake Features:

Size and Depth:
- The lake covers 160 acres, with most areas being around 6-7 feet deep. However, there are deeper channels throughout the lake, ranging from 9-10 feet deep.
- In front of the dam, there's about 50 acres of open water that drops to a depth of 15-20 feet, providing an excellent habitat for fish.
Fishery:
- The lake is known for its large, healthy bass population, which was confirmed during an electrofish survey.
- Additionally, the lake is full of crappie.
- In the summer months, expect many of the fish to be suspended around the thermocline at 6-12 feet of depth near the dam.

Boating Access:

Boat Ramps:
- There are 2 boat ramps capable of launching full-size bass boats.
Road Access:
- Currently, there is no all-weather road for the last 1.25 miles to the lake. However, much of the road is accessible, even in slightly wet conditions.
- The last 2/10 of a mile is a path through the field, which is perfectly fine to navigate in dry weather. There are plans to add a rock road in the next year to improve access.
Boat Recommendations:
- While there is a 12-14 foot jon boat available for member use, the lake is quite large, and it is recommended to bring your own boat. A larger boat will allow you to better navigate this expansive body of water.
- Be sure to bring an extra battery, as it’s important to be prepared on a lake of this size to avoid getting stranded.

Fishing Regulations:

Bass and Bluegill: There is no harvest required for bass or bluegill, so you can catch and release these fish.
Crappie and Catfish: You are allowed to keep all crappie and catfish that you catch.

Additional Information:

Members coming from DFW and points south will likely pass through Elmore City, a quaint town made famous by the 1984 cult classic movie "Footloose"—inspired by this very community. You might even catch a glimpse of Kevin Bacon on your way!
