This 28-acre lake is nestled in the heart of the cutting horse capital of the world about 45 miles NW of downtown Ft. Worth. Most every major player in the cutting horse business has a ranch in the area. But you didn't come to Red Hollow Lake to learn about horses. You came to catch big bass. Red Hollow Lake does not disappoint. The lake boasts bass that exceed 9 lbs. Electrofishing survey produced a 9.8, 8.3 and several over 5 lbs. (Folks this is not common in an electrofish survey) The bass are above weight, which is a sign of a strong forage base, and the owner has been harvesting the right number of bass each year.

The lake is really two lakes connected by a narrow canal. The main lake where you will launch is 18 acres and has clear water. The canal is 6-8 feet deep when the lake is full and is narrow (about 12-18 foot wide depending on lake level). The 12 acre side has more habitat and the water is usually more turbid (less clear).

There is not a boat launch, but we had no problems launching our 3500 pound electrofishing boat.

Launching a 16 foot and smaller aluminum boat should be no problem but would not chance a heaver fiberglass boat.

Launch your boat between the two stakes just beyond the pier.

Remove all bass 14" and under at this site - PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE OF HARVEST FISH ON PROPERTY, PLEASE TAKE THEM WITH YOU. Report the total number of each species removed, back to the club office through the online reservation system after your outing.
