This place is amazing.  I got there at sunrise and was on the water throwing top water.  Shockingly they were not that interested.  Then I pick up the ol’ black and blue chatterbait...and never really put it down. The fish were absolutely crushing it when I would slow roll it past the brush piles.  I did not catch many in open water but around the brush it was constant.  I also lost several because they swam so fast toward the kayak and jumped out so high they could spit the hook.  Actually I said some things I need to go to church for but when I calmed down I realized that I needed to change rods.  I think the medium rod was too flexible so when they jumped out it gave a little too much slack.  I changed to a medium heavy rod and never missed another.  My arm hurt so bad by the end of day fighting and catching but I love it.  I think the cooler temps got the fish moving and they were all healthy fighters.  They are mean and hate blue gill looking chatter baits.  Like at signal ranch don't forget about the smaller pond as I caught a bunch of fish back there.  I stayed till 3 cuz but I wanted to stay and my numbers could have been even higher.  One crazy fish story- I could see groups of them chasing the bait up shallow so I throw my spook up there and twitch a few times and an absolute EXPLOSION!  But when the fish came back down it busted my line...15 lb seagar!  So now I lost my spook and the fish but I did what any bass fishing junkie would do and I threw my lipless in there!  Smack, fish on and finally get it to the kayak and notice a long piece of line that's free!  Som of a guni got the second fish out back and then hand lined the other and actually got the fish and my lure!  Never had that happen before!  Check this lake out because it is special.  Thanks PWF.
