Our outing was similar to John’s on 5-2. From north Carrollton we took the tollroad to Dallas Pky, it was the quickest route even through there were 2 bridges on FM 455 down to one lane. There was only one rain shower on the radar in Texas as we left, and it was moving across I 35 with Whitesboro in its crosshairs. But it moved above the ranch and left a very pleasant morning to fish.

Banked fished for a couple of hours, culled a number of fish, caught 5 over 14 in to 2.5lbs. Plus some large perch. John made a good choice by going ultra light, and after reading his post when back home it would have been nice to have brought my ultra light ( a spinning outfit rigged with 2 lb test ).

Brenda came with me and enjoyed the beautiful ranch and the doggie company.

Ha, one of those 455 bridges I cross 10 times a week, wait time if fresh red 4 minutes.
I love ultra light spinning. I got thinking these PWF lakes have ginormous perch and crappie. Public lakes those are far n few between. When I had my bass boat in summer after lunch I would perch fish a few hours here n there.

Glad you had a good day out there. That lake is 20 minutes from me. Will be going again soon.
