Water temp 68-70, 4-6 ft vis, mostly sunny, mild day and calm winds. Tried plastics and swim bait early with no success.  Fishing close to bank at the “right” places and after almost 2 hours, nothing. Heard a little disturbance toward the middle turned and made a blind cast with an Owner flashy swimmer using a 4” largo shad. Hour later, boated 7, missed another few. Might have been more if not for wasting 15 minutes addressing certain angler equipment issues.  Lesson of the day: remember to fish the middle!  Especially post spawn. Tried some Lilly pads later in a cove with several 3-4 lb bass hungry for frog. Bank only gave up a couple good fish all day. But the middle (and Lilly pads) worked best today. Total caught 16. Largest 4 lbs.
