This place is very fishy, lots of places for bass to hide. Unfortunately the grass has already gotten to the surface and covers a vast magority of the lake. Very few casts (even weightless worm) did not come with some grass. Also makes for frequent cleaning of trolling motor. I did get out of the boat and fish the shoreline, good change of pace. Fished from 9 to 6, morning and most of the afternoon was bluebird skies (it was supposed to be cloudy in the afternoon). And it was cloudy all around me but sunny on the lake for most of the afternoon. When the clouds did come overhead it seemed to trigger the fish. Very pleasant day on the water, air temp started in the upper 50’s and ended in the mid 70’s with light winds (could have used a little more wind). If they had bitten the frog or toad it would have made for a better day but they didn’t want either. The lure of the day was a purple lizard. I don’t want to sound negative because I did enjoy my time on the water but nates became a problem in the afternoon. I had a sun buff and big hat or would have gotten more bites on the face. With more wind they probably wouldn’t be a problem. Spoke to a ranch hand afterwards and he said they were going to add chemicals to kill the grass. Very nice lake with lots of shoreline and timber. I’ll be back, might try a kayak next time.
