Yesterday afternoon at Triple J posed a challenge with the arrival of the windy cold front. Debated on boat or bank due to the gusty 20 mph winds. Decided to launch anyway and give it our best effort on the water. Threw a wide variety of bates & colors (Cranks, Spinners, Chatter, Swim Jigs, Flukes & TR Worms)...I thought with the wind in play and the water churned up to chocolate that we might have better luck throwing darker Cranks, Spinners & Chatterbaits however, TR Worm, Flukes & dark Swim Jigs were the only thing that produced any bites. Mostly small LMB either culled or barely at slot. We did manage 3 very nice crappie which we also returned. We started at the North shallows and tried a slow drift with anchor drag but really had to work the boat quite a bit. Over 4 hours we covered the entire lake and the only area that proved productive was the East side by the timber south of the launch area yielding 9 total fish….Nice property, easy access and will try again.
