Decided to sneak in a day of fishing HIckory Creek before the weatherman’s warnings of wet weather later in the week. Weather was cloudy to start then cleared in early afternoon during a long lunch break.   Winds fromt he sounth & southwest were varible speed and frequently fairly brisk. Some blowups first thing on frogs provided optimism for a busy day, but not so fast...the rest of the day turned out to be a slower bite than usual.  The bass were all good size and vast majority hooked right on the bank.  Never found any concentrations, and a hunt for crappie also only found a few singles.

The ranch is lush and green, a beautiful setting as always for enjoying a day out   The eagles serenaded and soared, actively fishing a good part of the day.  The rankch owner kindly stopeed by with the dogs to say hello.  Thanks to him for making this place available to us.
