I'll never get tired of fishing but whoever reads these might get tired of my comments. The black/blue buzzbait does it again. What's amazing is the weather was horrible, howling wind and some sprinkles but I would anchor down (just like last time) and get my back to the wind and that stupid buzz bait gets the bites. I was at 12 fish by lunch and finished with 27. Every fish was fat and healthy and I had no dinks. They all fought so hard, jumped and even bit down on my thumb on the release!! I tried crank baits, shaky head and spinner baits but there is a ton of grass/moss/stuff in the water. So the buzz bait was cool because it would skip above all the junk in the water and the bass would come out of nowhere and crush it! Side note, I can't quit my day job just yet but one bit of advice- have a high gear ratio for that buzz bait because you have to keep the line tight to land the fish. When the wind died down I would switch to the scum frog and the bass would obliterate it! So much fun. One side note, there is a small path (I tried to mark it on my picture) that takes you to a shallow but fruitful spot for bedding fish! In fact the biggest fish I caught were all in about a foot of water in this small channel. In general, most fish were caught on the east side of the lake and near the boat ramp side, not in the long L shape. Surprisingly I could get nothing in the deep water but like I said, I can't quit my day job, I was in a kayak with no electronics. So slinging and flinging. Had a blast and I highly recommend this property. I will say, the flat bottom boat on site is HUGE. So if you plan to use it, I don't know if you will be able to get into the smaller coves. Thank you land owner and thank you PWF!!!!
