Looking through some pictures reminded me to post about our day (3/15) at Paradise Compound.  Just shy of 2 hours from Dallas just outside of Palestine, we ventured out during my son’s spring break and had a great day.  We caught several in the 3-4 lb range, the largest weighing in at 4.51 lbs., but caught/culled 30 or so dinks.  Plenty of action all afternoon.  Also caught several large bluegill.  All were caught within 5’ of the bank with the best action in the N/NE corner shallow flats.  Watermelon wacky rig was the big hit but had several blow up on an frog.  The owner is a great guy who gave us a quick history of the lake and pointed us in the right direction.  I understand there are quite a few hawgs so we will be back!
