My uncle (John Jordan) and I (Jordan Massey) fished The Jordan on March 4 for the first time. On the water by 730 or so and we were pretty surprised by how muddy the water was. Probably 6 inches of visibility. Not sure if it's always like this or due to the recent rains. Very slow for about the first two hours but quickly picked up after that. Tried a variety of different lures with no success. Finally hooked up with one on a squarebill down by the dam but it would be the only one caught on a crankbait. Fire craw chatterbait was the star of the show for me and a red zoom lizard. My uncle had good success on whacky worms as well. Caught very few dinks, most of our culls (18) were in the 12-14 inch range. Two three pounders and a 4-11 were caught off of the island. Very healthy fat fish that were ready to spawn. Didn't see any beds.
