As always, Hidden Springs was beautiful.I took my son for a father/son getaway.  We had a great laugh over the bluebirds that always attack my truck after we pull away from the launch site.  6 of them worked my truck over from one end to the next!  He had never seen how territorial they are.

We also spotted a huge woodpecker and kingfisher, so the birdwatching helped us weather a challenging day of post frontal conditions.

We wound up catching seven, including one that stretched to 22.5 inches.  Every fish had that beautiful East Texas color that makes them such a treat to behold!  The spring is running and water was flowing over the dam, so it's in great shape.
