Friend and I got in one last trip before the new year taking advantage of the warm weather. Fished the first lake from the bank, no bites. It’s seemed low and had some work done on the back side of the dam from the lake above it. Put in on second (middle) lake, caught a couple. We could have used some more wind, while it was mostly overcast it was too calm. When do we ever ask for more wind in TX? Put in on third lake. I caught a 4.7 shortly after launching (wind had picked up a bit). All were caught on green pumkin worms (weighted and weighless). Caught one on a flat sided crank. We we’re making our way around the dam a final time when my friend caught a 5.8. Great way to end the day and the year.
