Finally was able to cross this property off my to do list. Been wanting to fish here for two years. I woke up Sunday morning to hear Mark Stevenson on KRLD talk about the 36th anniversary of catching Ethel & the state record bass in November 1986. Could this be a similar PB day? Not to be this time.
I caught 10 with eight culls. Largest was 4.6 lbs. caught on a jerk bait. Bass Forecast called for a “5”, fair day, and so it was. Water level is WAY down!. See pics below. Struggled to get the boat out of the dock area, but persistence paid off. With fish densely compacted into fewer acres, I was hoping for a better day.
Great boat with three charged batteries ready to go. I only had to add my trolling motor. While a jerk bait was the go to for the day, I also caught fish on senkos, lizards and chatter bait. Nothing on top water, jigs, crank baits or swim baits. Water clarity was stained at 2 feet due to the rain the day before. Winds were mild and air temp ranged from 50 – 65.
Met the owner, Dr. McFarland and learned about the history of the the property. Super nice guy. Look forward to returning and staying in the lodge.

Wow. That is way lower than my previous trips. Can we get a water truck out there? ;-) They can have all the water in my back yard.
