I fished Ferris Triple J late Monday afternoon on April 12th. I started off fishing the windblown bank north of the swimming pool with no luck. I was trying to catch some of the Crappie I have heard about in this lake but no luck.
I hooked into 8 bass and landed 7 of them. The one that broke off was about 3 to 4 pounds. I was using 4lb test line. I did catch 2 bass and a bull frog out of the small pond using a horny toad. All lures where worked very slow, fish did not want to chase my fast moving offering. The other 5 bass where caught on pop r and pink floating trick worm at the dam.
There was this green algae that was around the edges of the lake. My spinner bait didn’t stand a chance of making it through this stuff. I fished from the bank, did not want to take a chance on launching my boat with possible high winds.
All in all it was a good day to get out and fish for a couple of hours.
