First time to fish Malouf Lake & looks like i hit the last of the warm days for awhile...Beautiful day and beautiful property. It did not disappoint as Cole recommended. This is a good size lake and a 3 ½ hour afternoon does not allow enough time to fully explore and find those great spots...The dam area vegetation line seemed to be the most productive (5-6 ft). Having just a few hours, I threw quite a few options early on ranging from Flukes, Cranks, Chatter, Swim Jigs & TR Worms. The most action came from a Watermelon Red Fluke & Grn Pumpkin Weightless TR Worm and i stayed with that combo most of the time. Ended up w/ 11 ttl LMB, nothing over 3 lb & about ½ were 1-2 lbs & a few dinks. Lots of fun using lighter spinning tackle..Water temp was about 69 w/ clear vis, a little breezy but not bad. No real problem w/ the boat leak but a little tough on launching by yourself due to some erosion adjacent to the ramp area. Thanks for the tip PWF & i will be back in the Spring.
