I fished Double A Lake Saturday, Nov 5th, and all I can say is it was Awsome. After the crazy weather we had Friday, I really didn’t know what to expect.
I fished from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Visibility was good to 2 ‘ water was maybe slightly stained but really good after such heavy rains.
Air Temps started at 48 degrees, and the high was 65 degrees. The Water temp is only a guess, but I thought it was in the mid-’60s.
The wind was WNW at 8 to 10 MPH to start. The wind died down around 10:00 am and started swinging around until it finally blew out of the SE and South at about 1 pm at a steady 10 mph with gusts up to 22 mph.
Barometer was at 29.45 most of the morning.
I took off from the ramp and headed left at 7:30 am Powerfishing with many lures concentrating on the weed edge. At about 8:15, I had worked my way around the bank to about the midway point of the west bank, and I started hearing first and then seeing fish busting the hell out of the bait just out from the NW corner. The bait was running for their lives, and the bass would launch themselves at them. I looked like someone was throwing boulders into the lake. I threw a buzzbait, a Chatterbait, and a lipless at them but no takers. I finally hooked a nice fish on a spinnerbait but as active as the fish were, I wasn’t throwing the right stuff at them. I finally saw what the bait size was they were chasing and made a switch to a 3/16 oz coolbaits down under underpin with a 2.8 keitech and it made all the difference in the world. I also threw a screw head 1/8 oz that also produced. See the pic of it compared to bait size. Most of the fish were 4 to 4.5 lbs. 3 or 4 were 5 lbs, and 1 was 22.5,” but my scale wasn’t working, so I estimate it to be 6.5 lbs
I have caught more fish and a few bigger fish, but these were, on average, the biggest fish I can remember catching in 1 day.
I would work from the NW corner about midway down the north bank, and back fishing was so good I didn’t even break for lunch. The bass hit those bait balls all morning up until 3:00 pm. It’s a wonder they ever hit my bait with all the bait that was in the area but luckily, they did from time to time. This will be a trip I remember for years to come.
I want to thank Joe, the landowner, and PWF for making this AWSOME trip happen.
I didn’t take many pictures. It’s a little unnerving when you hear big bass busting top water all around you.
Regards,
Chris

Had one of the best fishing days there back in April 5 fish bag 32lbs with an 8.82 kicker. Lost count of the 4lbers seemed like. Those are the hardest fighting fish in the club, they do not like getting stuck in the face. Good job, Chris!
