First time here, and it was a blast. Temps dropped to 29 degrees when I got in the water about 8AM. Stayed until lunch. Fished lake #1 the entire time. Caught 9 and missed a couple more. All but one were caught on spinnerbait. Caught one on wacky worm. The fish were super aggressive and hit hard. Lots of fun. Caught 2 that were 2 lbs and the rest were 4 lbs plus, with the largest topping out over 5 lbs. All were healthy. I’ve seen the numbers from previous reports and I wasn’t able to get that. Bass Forecast had a 4.2 rating and I think it was due to the cold front that came through. It was the first time out in my new kayak so I didn’t have a depth finder rigged up just yet so I fished the shore lines, all of my success was retreiving parallel to the grass line. I’m sure I could’ve caught more in deeper water as I feel that’s where they were but I didn’t want to fight the grass and not knowing how deep it was would’ve made the fishing slow and I only had half a day so I wanted to cover as much water as possible. Windy and cold at times, but tons of fun. It’s a very well managed fishery.
