My good friend Scott Wheeler and I hit the water at the crack of dawn – weather was calm, cloudy skys, low wind – we worked topwater with no pick ups and moved to fluke pretty quickly. I picked up 2/3 back to back chasing – in fact, the bass were chasing ALL OVER this lake.  Bass (large bass) were chasing bait fish all around us throughot the day.  We picked up several on reaction strikes in the afternoon and Scott picked up the largest of the day (6.6) just after she erupted form the water tackling baitfish in front of his boat (Jaws!), he quickly reacted with a power worm cast that she scooped up like CD Lamb.  We both agreed we hadn’t seen fish chase like this anywhere – such activity and, again, large fish were among the small.  I caught a 2 ½ and 3.2 on the sight / sound cast, as well.  Shad underspin worked for me.  Beyond this, we caught the rest off grass piles lining the entire bank in roughly 15 – 20 ft of water with lizards, brush hog and flukes.  Drag across the top and let it fall at the edge – you know the deal.  The owner, Joe, came out to visit and proved why he has such a productive place.  He was extremeley interested in our catch and what else he could do to ensure premier fisinig in the future.  Great day at Double A – wish we has bagged more, great experience none the less.

– Cheers

It was amazing to see the the swarms and attacks and the boiling of the water of the great chase, this went on throughout the day
I Have never seen it quite this active.
The Cloud Cover was an unexpected surprise and very enjoyable.
I seen some very large bass come to the surface chasing baits and missed out  on catching them more than a couple of times.
I was hoping for us to catch a few larger fish than we did, but all in all it was still a very good day.
As always I very much enjoyed fishing with you today Steve, everytime we go out we learn just a little more about our sport that we love so much.
Much appreciated.
I’ll Be Back on Double A With John Freeman on Saturday October 1st and this trip got me a little more prepaied and excited for that day.
Allways Enjoy The Day On Double A.
