Property Name : Black Hat
Reservation Date : 07/16/2022 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 22
Lures Used : Spinnerbait, Crankbait, Chatterbait, Trig 10" worm, Swim jig

Had a delay on getting through the property gate but was finally able to get through and on the water around 1:30 pm. The property is beautiful and the lake looks full as far as I can tell. I ended up fishing out of the property's little bass raider. Sorry no electronics so no water temp or depth finder on this trip. Water clarity was about 6-8". Starting out I was skunked for the first 2 hours. My usual go to baits did not pan out. The grass was below the surface and scattered making it difficult to find the grass line with the murky water. I had to fish 30 yards out or more because the grass was thick. Anyways the bass started biting after changing baits and strategy. They were biting shad color baits. They were active from 7’-14' my guess. I had 1 shallow bite but the rest were deeper. I ended up fishing from 1:30-7:00 with a shade & food break in between at the dock. Temp was a scorching 100 with a thankful breeze at times. It was challenging at first but I finished with 22 bass and culled 5. The bass were fat and healthy no matter what size. Pics attached. Thank you owner and PWF!

Haha thanks John. I still definitely had to work for them. The heat for sure wasn't easy. I felt like dunking myself all afternoon but instead I was pouring cold water over my head to stay cool. Stay hydrated!

Gets any hotter in some of these shallower lakes the fish will be par-boiled. I hope the aerators were on.

John, the aerators were on! It kinda made the lake look like it was boiling from the heat cooking the water haha. There are tons of baitfish which is probably why it seems harder to catch them. Reminds me of Double-A lake. My wife called me Crazy for fishing in this heat!
