My wife and I got to the lake around 10:30 am temperature was 90 degrees it went up from there to 101. Last couple of fishing reports talked about success around the dam at the “morning glory”. We fished this area hard with deep diving crank baits and swim baits falling to the bottom. We had the most success fishing ledges that had grass at the surface adjacent to the deeper water. Aross from the dock on the western side is a cove where we had good success. This area held maybe 8-10 fish in a 30 minute span around 1:15 in the afternoon (very hot). Swim baits to the edge was the trick they hit it almost when the lure hit the water. Around sunset we went to the far end of the lake in shallow water. This is when it got fun and was the reason we stayed so late. We had multiple fish chasing bait fish at the surface exploding. Really cool as we threw our lures toward the swerls and they would hit them hard. All the fish we caught were good size and fighters and we lost several, at the boat, that would have been the best of the day. All in all Frannies continues to be a great fishing lake. Thanks to the owner and PWF for a fun day in July!
