Had an amazing day despite the hot temps at 100 degrees. We started the morning at sunrise 6:15am. Early we took advantage of the top water bite in the weed mats around the entire lake. Landed a 5.5 lb and a handful of 3-5lb fish early. Put the frog down about 9am and started fishing edges of grass line with swim jigs and medium depth crankbait. Caught another 5 over the next couple hours. My son fished his 8” glide bait on the edges and got some great fish in the 4-5lb range and a ton of followers, sometimes as many as 3 followers. Caught fish consistanting rest of the day here and there until about 7:45pm. Then we swithed back to frog until dusk. Had some huge bow ups and landed 10-15 with top fish right at 6lbs. would suggest 40lb + braid and heavy rod for frog fishing so you can get it out the weed mat. Joe the owner came mid day and introduced himself- great guy and really appreciate his hospitality. This lake is a gem, thriving with 2-6lb strong, healthy fish. Thanks again Joe.
