I never really found them Saturday. I started at 6:30 am, but I had to run the trolling motor a lot, and the battery died at about 3:00 pm, so I called it a day. Water was very clear with viz to about 10 or 12’. I really like this little lake, but I have a bunch to learn about fishing deep and clear bodies of water. I saw hundreds of 10” bass but nothing bigger and no forage fish, so I was stumped. The weeds were very manageable, and I know they are in there, but I guess I wasn’t holding my mouth right.
I will be back with a better plan next time.

Deep water sometimes intimidates a bit but the fish I have found at Long were all extremely shallow. Most of the bottom is bare and bass will normally relate to cover or structure, which is shallow. So shallow, some that I caught were in inches deep.
There are some pigs in Long.
