We hit the water Sunday shortly after 7 and took advantge of the top water action until about 10. My son started off with a frog and then switched to a spinner bait, I used a shad colored popper and caught 5 or so in the first hour.…he had no luck. My son decided to switch to a june bug blue chatter bait, and BAM, he began to catch several quality bass in short order. Once the sun was out and the skies cleared, I moved to a jerk bait and the bite was on for me too… but now so was the wind! Hard fishing from 11 on…but we persevered! We boated 32 up to 5.3 lbs. 5 were culls (this does NOT count the 10 or so that crushed our lures and got off at the boat). Water clarity was 2’ and water temp was 80 in deeper water and 84 in shallows. Best action by far was in the deeper water near the dam, the bass have definately moved out of the shallow water, much has changed since the spawn. Love this property, will be fishing on a regular basis along with a few other select PWF lakes.
