Started fishing around 7:30 and tried everything without success. Fellow member Andy Dear informed me about an old roadbed that they had success with unweighted plastics. Around noon, I tried that area again. After I cast, there was a large swirl and I thought I should cast to that area next cast. I then realized I had it hooked. After a good fight, I landed a 7.14, 24” bass. That was the only bit and I left around 2PM. 

I think this will qualify as the 3rd largest fish in the contest and the largest for May. Keeping my fingers crossed that no one catches a larger one the remaining 4 days.
