Wife and I are doing a little road trip, so we took advantage of the nice PWF property in Smithville. We fished for about 4 hours on Sunday afternoon and landed and removed 10 under 14IN. Most were caught on a watermelon red wacky senko or a shad patterned hard jerkbait as the sun went down. This is a beautiful little lake with super easy access with the club boat waiting in the water tied to the convenient pier. The water was 87F and very clear – with viz to 5FT. The vegetation is manageable with moss ringing the lake out to about 9FT deep. We enjoyed the evening of fishing, but more than anything we enjoyed the excellent lodging in the lake side cabin. It is clean and comfortable and provides a very relaxing setting. The lounge chairs on the porch provided a perfect place to view the full moon on the water and later on the blood moon lunar eclipse. We met owner Karen and she made us feel especially welcomed and at home. Y’all check it out!
