This was mine and my wife's first time at Shady Shores we reserved it for the day, but got there around 1:00 pm. Must say upon arriving it is certainly a different looking situation. Ponds appear to be shallow and over grown. But we put our trust in past fishing reports and we loaded our boat into pond 3 (looked the most interesting). My wife is just learning to bass fish so I wanted her to have the opportunity to feel the pull on the line consistently, which was my reasoning for choosing this property. We were not disappointed! Begin catching fish on only a couple of casts. Although the wind got up a bit it was not a problem as we would drift cast in the open water. Soon moved to the grass portion where the water was still. We tied on the buzz baits and had very good success. So much fun to see them explode on the bait. My wife caught her PB at 3.11 Lbs, biggest of the day. We did move to pond #5 around 5:00 to give it a try. It had what looked to be about 3-4 acres of open water with tall grass around the edges. Water was deep and clear….not one strike on anything from spinnerbaits to buzzbaits and senko worms. Left there and went to pond #1. This pond has dead stick ups all over it with no structure evident other than these stickup. I was doughtful about success there. I was happily proved wrong. Had very good success on buzz baits with all fish very healthy and pulled hard. Lost track after 30 + fish caught. I can see where these lakes will become over grown in a month or so making it harder to fish.
