I made a run 4/3/22 to Twin Oaks.  The lake was easy to find using the written directions, except I question the 5.4 miles from Thorndale,  It is more like 2.2 miles, but maybe I started measuring from the wrong spot.  Look for the County Road sign and it will take you threre.  Also the coordinates took me East of town, but again maybe I don’t understand how to use them.  I did use the boat, it’s great.

Fishing, I was a little late, but started about 7:30 am and caught first fish at 7:31.  Calm, clear water, full level and the topwater bite was aggressive for about an hour.  After that slowed,  went to Tx rig (weedless) and the Filamntous algae was strong,  It is certainly fishable and there were good aggressive bites, but I would say 95% of my retrieves, once i quit topwater, required another minute to wipe the  worm/hook off.  Still, I’ll take biting over weedless.   The wind was light to moderate, and I would say don’t fish here on a stong windy day as there is no wind break in the pasture, and the jon boat would be hard to control without an anchor.

It would also be tough to fish the bank as it is about a 6-15 ft layer all the way around the edge and you would lose fish in that.  You could wade fish with some good waders and step out, but the fish are so close to the edge I don’t know how successful that would be.  Most of the fish I caught were in the algae and hitting when the lure hit the water.  I would fish the worm a little faster than normal trying to keep it off the bottom.  It was a strong bite so very little doubt when they hit.  I quit about 10:30 am and the bite was slowing.

As usual very good experience!
