It does not get much better than catching 100 fish in a day on a pristine property with magnificent weather. We new it would be a great day but it started off a little shaky.
Phil and I leave my house very early (cause we know its a fish on kind of day) pulling my hobie kayak and a truck full of gear with full intentions of my brother fishing a club boat at the lake. Of course we get all the way to the property and as we are pulling up I cringed with a painful revelation. Phil, I forgot to grab your trolling motor, ouch! He says your kidding right? Boy I wish I was kidding Phil! Double ouch! 73 miles back to the house! You ask so what did we do? We drove 15 miles to Livingston to the Walmart……...we are 30 minutes waiting for it to open at 6 AM. Praying they have a trolling motor but not sure. Doors open and we quickly shuffle to the outdoor department and what do you know they had one 40 pound thrust trolling motor to go along with the 55 pound thrust trolling motor back at the house. It does get better…….…
We arrive back at the lake in time to watch a sunrise and get the gear loaded in the kayak and club boat. Phil was dang happy to not have to paddle the boat all day. We had to resort to our click counters to keep track of the fish caught and released. I had the big fish of the day but Phil caught the most. He was on fire and ended up with very sore thumbs. Not a bad problem to have as a momento to remind you of how special your day was.
100 fish later we are loaded up and in route back to the house at 5 PM. Sure we could have gone till dark but we thought we would leave them biting for the next anglers hoping to have a 100 fish day. If you have not fished this lake you need to get it on your calendar. Lots of 3 to 4 pounders and this lake is now producing some rather large fish in the 6 to 8 pound weight class. Lake management is vital to producing these kind of results. This was our 2nd outing this spring and we can't wait for our next scheduled trip to happen. Love Spring Time Bass Fishing!!!!!!
PWF thank you for continuing to do a great job for the members……..you make it possible for us two brothers to create memories that will endure forever!
