Fellow PWF member Mike Nicoloff and I fished Shady Grove from 8am-2pm.

Swim jig was the winning pattern of the day but Mike did pick up a few on a spinnerbait, trig, and 6” magdraft freestyle.

90% of the bass came out of tank 1&3. Tank 3 was very clear and weed growth was pretty significant. Most of the fish here came out pretty far past the weed line in the open area. This made it a chore hauling them through the cabbage to shore so heavy braid and heavy rod were a must.

Tank 1 was equally productive but the grass line only extended a few feet but we had to deal with the stalks sticking up. Fish would bite much closer to the weed edge so it was easier getting these fish in.

Tank 2 had quite a bit of algae bloom and only produced 1 fish.

We did notice that most of the fish we caught were pretty lean for this time of year. No spawning fish yet that we could see and none of the bigger girls this trip.
