It started great as we stopped for some lunch at Wendy’s. Then I stopped at the Decatur Garden Center which is on same road as Briar Branch. I have been having a hard time finding the tomato varieties I like to grow. They had everything that I needed.  Best selection of vegetable since I worked at the Spoth greenhouses.  If your in the area and need veggies, shrubs, tropicals or a tree this is the place.  Back to fishing, while moving the boat to the water I stepped in the mud up to my calf.  Starting tossing chatter baits and speed worms but no takers.  We struggled with the wind and algae.  Finally hooked up 4 bass in the 14 to 16” range on a white spinner bait. Water is going over the spill way and the pastures looked green.   The boat has a slight leak and I think it's the rivets. So bring some water proof foot wear if you are the the back with the battery and anchor. No beds and nothing was caught near the shore.  Fished for 3 hours and had enjoyed the day.
