Met up with Scott Porto at Coldspring – Lost Creek Ranch and we had an epic day on the water! Caught 75 LMB total along with some monster bluegill. The two biggest were just under 8lbs, including a new PB 7-11 for Scott P! Also caught a couple just under 6 and another just over 5, so the size was there along with the numbers. This lake is fishing paradise, and at just 3 years old, the lake will only get better from here…if you haven’t been yet, you should definitely add it to your list. Lures that produced the most: red bug brush hog, chatter bait, Epic stick bait, senko, and square bill (crawfish colors).
The big fish were caught at the entry to or mid-way in the arms, not much production in the deeper water and bank where the owner’s mini pontoon is, but the dam bank and every spot in the arms produced fish.
In addition to the fishing, can’t beat the beauty of this lake and the resident eagle flying overhead periodically just added to the day. Being able to spend some time on the water with one of our great Houston members was the best part!
