Took the PM slot at Dogwood East. Water temps started at 60 and ened up at 66 in late afternoon. Started in the deep trees with a swim bait and an A-Rig with no action. I went up shallow but didn’t see much. Started catching bucks just above the cull in 5-8’ on fast cranked squarebills. Ended the day at 6 PM. had a chat with the landowner as I packed the car, nice old fella. Decided to take a stroll down the dam and there I saw a group of fish that I thought were catfish, up around some wood. Turns out they were the largest bass I’d ever seen, setting up on beds along the dam. These fish ranged in size I would say from 7#+ to double digits. The biggest may have been 10#-12#. Just enormous. Tossed a Senko and a dark sleeper at them but ran out of light and couldn’t see well.
