My son and I got on the water at about 7:30a. Air temp was about 50 degrees with light winds. Water temp was 57. The wind steadily picked up until it go to an absolute howl at about 10am. We fought and fought, not the fish unfortunely but the wind until about 11a when we were just plum whipped.

We worked the outer edge of the lake with only one fish (2 lbs) that came off of one of the marked brush piles on the east side. It was caught on a t-rigged senko. We then started watching the electronics and after an hour or so we found the fish stacked up on the north side of the lake suspended from about 7.5 to 15 feet. We stayed there for a good while throwing everything we had and we came up empty. They wouldnt commit to anything we threw at them, cranks in various colors and depth runners, flukes, spinners, chatterbaits, paddle tails with an underspin, various plastics, hard swimbaits, they just werent chewing. The first battery was dead by 10am from the trolling motor running full out in the wind. At this point, I threw in the towel and we loaded up.

Met the property owner on the way out and he was a super nice guy. We’ll be back soon as my son was the one that caught the one fish and I took the dreaded skunk so I will have to get my redemption.
