I fished Timber Lake on Saturday (12th) the day after the front and was greeted with blue bird skies, little wind and 29 degree temps in the morning. As previously reported by others, the water is down but it is a deep lake and plenty of areas to fish. I was surprised how deep it was thick in the timber and some spots were easily 12 to 15 ft. Much deeper by the dam and used 20 to 28 ft of anchor rope. The water was clear with a solid 4 or 5 feet of visibility. There were two boats on-site, a 14 and 12 ft and I used the 14 footer. The boat did leak some but wasn't a big deal and bailed water a couple times. Next time I will bring my kayak as it will be easier to maneuver through the minefield of trees and won't have to worry about the trolling motor smacking a stump.
I caught 12 fish total for the day and fought for every one. 2 were dinks but the rest were strong healthy fish and the largest was 3.63. In the morning I had success yo-yo-ing a lipless crank in deep water. When the bite slowed I moved closer to the timber and had success slow rolling a spinnerbait. In mid afternoon I stuck with the spinner and weightless senko combo and the senko was equally successful near timber and up in the shallows near the weed line. You can see the weed line in the below picture. I didn't see any beds in the shallows yet but had some males pecking away at the senko so I eventually moved on as I figured they were busy scouting bedding areas.
I did have another otter sighting and this one was smaller than the otter at Deer Trail. The otter was near the dam in the morning and it bailed pretty quick when I got close and didn't see it for the rest of the day.
Overall, it was a great day and beautiful property and will be back when temps heat up.

We are on the otters. 6 traps have been set around both Timber and Deer Trail. Thanks for reprting them. The owners are also actively using thermal scopes to locate them at night.
