First trip to Sixo. What a beautiful place with great structure, the water super clear plenty of points to fish just an awesome place. Jumped in the pontoon and headed down to the south point off to the right there's plenty of timber where it looked just plum fishy. The wind was blowing so hard had to anchor out and it still Was dragging us until finally enough grass and algae would pile up around the anchor and hold or you drug into a log. I was able to throw a Texas rig early enough before the wind kicked up another 10 and they seem to be on. I had two hits but couldn't set the hook and then followed that by two more fish in the boat. Boated one more a little bit later in the same spot and then had a very good one on and busted brand new 12 pound flouro. The fish would hit in about 8 -10 foot of water far from the timber and out from the vegetation. All fish were between 18-20 inches. About 10:30 AM we started to head back up north to try to get out of the wind and it was blowing so hard we couldn't hardly even push the boat back with a 46 pound troller motor and a weakening battery. I might've stayed had the battery not started weakening but we were pretty much beat from the wind and sick of trying to fight it called it a day about 1:15.
I think if the wind hadn't been blowing today we would've had a heckuva day. Still enjoyed the serene spot and will certainly be trying to get back to it. I did slow roll a swim bait I crank bait and tried the chatter bait for a while just couldn't keep them clean of the grass and no fish seem to take hold. Since I used the pontoon boat provided and not my own boat with electronics  not sure what the water temp was but I'm imagining it wasn't in the mid 50s to the touch.
