It has been a little while since I’ve posted. Well I couldn’t be happier with my daughter as she was able to catch her PB at Dogwood West. I wanted some company this go around and my daughter said yes when I asked her if she wanted to go. I was shocked but delighted since my wife was working on 2/19. She actually put in more time fishing than usual lol. Dogwood is a great property by the ways. My daughter was ready to get out of the truck to wrestle the chains at the gate entry haha. I told her we didn’t have to mess with the gate because it has an automatic gate. She was amazed by the front gate and the drive through the property. We launched the property’s boat around 1230 pm. The water temp was in the mid 40’s and the water clarity was around 1-1.5 ft. There was a 5-10 mph breeze. We started working the north shore from where we launched. Bites were far and few but they were good bites. Initially I tried throwing different crankbaits and an a-rig but nothing. The a-rig was getting hung up quite a bit other than down by the dam. We worked back around to the north shore at the launch area and began picking up a few bites when switched to a rattletrap. I realized the north shore was getting the sun vs the south shore so I concentrated on the north thereafter. I picked up the largest near the launch in about 5 fow. The bass blanketed the 22.5 in ruler when laid on top of it. Working down the north shore, I also picked up a few on a t-rig blue brush hog. They bit in 2-5 fow. The point on the north shore held a few bass. When I lost a bite on the point, my daughter said don’t worry I will catch it. She threw where I missed it with a light rose color plastic swim bait and caught her PB. It weighed 4 lb 10 oz. She was all smiles. I loved every bit of it. My daughter told me she had a great day.
