Owner had some family out recently and they caught some monsters!  Check out the video to see his 7 year old nephew land a 9 lb beauty from the bank!  Pics of a couple of more 8+ tanks caught also.  He added lime to the lake last year and it is making a big difference on the fishing.

In addition to liming the lake he is also in process of completing some very big projects, all should done in 2-3 weeks:

3 new boat ramps, 2 on big lake and 1 on the little lake

Rocked road from entrance to lakes so you can easily drive around the entire property

Added multiple big brush piles in the big lake

Finishing cabins, outdoor kitchen, party area and enclosed shower house

Gilmer Hat and Star has always been known as one of the best big fish lakes in the club and has probably the “best bones” of any lake we’ve seen in terms of depth, structure, shape, etc.  With these improvements a great lake is only getting better…and we love it!

Concrete ramp for a big boat?  I fished it in my kayak a few years ago and I can attest this lake is AWESOME.  I’d love to use a LiveScope on it.

William/Bill,

No concrete boat ramp, but you can launch full size bass boats with 4WD and moderately dry conditions.

Thank you for the update.  It is an awesome lake, but those that have fished it know that.  If you haven’t, you should.

One update from landowner, the ne rock ramps are basically done but the water is low so big boats will not be able to be launched until we get some much needed rain (or snow/ice).  He does have a nice boat in the water on the big lake that members can use in the interim.  Will keep you posted on any other updates.
