This was my first PWF experience, and I am hooked! Deer Trail Ranch is an absolute gem. I fished the west bank in the morning and stayed in about 5 feet of water. The hydria was at a reasonable level, providing excellent structure for the bass. Also along the west bank were plenty of brush piles and lay-downs. I threw weightless Senko, spinner, and square bill, which was very successful. After a bit of rain around 1:00 pm, I changed to a deep diving crank and started catching fish at 10’-13’ along the dam. 

The weather was definitely on my side, especially in December. High of 74 and barometric pressure decreasing fast caused by a cold front.
