We got a late start to the day as our boat key was in our other vehicle that was in the shop! So we didn’t get to the lake until almost 11am. It was a cloudy day but mild, water temp about 57 degrees, completely overcast until about 2:30pm. This was the maiden voyage of our new boat so the goal of the day was the put it through it’s paces as much as it was about fish. Caught the 2 biggest (only about 2.5 lbs each) off the brush piles on the west side of the lake using the spinners (Mepps, Roostertail).  We tried all over the lake though using the trolling motor and Lowrance, only caught 5 others. 1 off the east bank, 1 near the brushpile close to the dock, and the others along the west bank.

By about 2:30 we were in the process of giving up and going back to the dock when the sun tried to peek out a little. Not sure if that would have improved our fishing prospects, however by the time we got trailered and were on the road it was raining sporadically.

It’s a beautiful property, boat ramp was very nice.  Lots of coves and shallow water areas that I’m sure the bass love during spawning season!
