Member Tony Stewart and I started fishing at 6:45am. It was a a pretty big numbers day for the both of us, hauling in between 50-60 LMB over the next 7 hours. Tony caught a 7 ½ lb LMB on the east shore early on and soon after landed a 4 ½ pounder. The rest of the bass caught ranged from dinks to 1 ½ pound range. The north side of the lake seems to hold a large number of dinks. Didnt have much luck on the west side of the lake. Wind kicked up from the north by 10am or so and pretty much forced us to a few of the nooks in the banks. We used 5 to 10 inch soft plastics, texas rigged with 3/16 oz bullet weight. I tried a ned rig for a while and it proved to be a good numbers bait but nothing larger than 1 lb with the ned rig.
It rained the night before and the clarity of the lake seemed unaffected with clarity at 7-10 feet. The launch area proved to be difficult with the slop from the previous night’s rain. The launch is unimproved at this point and created problems walking our boats in and out of the pond. We spoke to owner Eric and all in all a great day. A cull program for this pond would probably be beneficial.

Congrats to Tony on the 7 1/2lber, nice fish! We hear you on the harvest program, we just updated to do harvest on Long Lake and Salt Lick, should help get the average size up on both.
