Water 24” vis and 56 temp start with 60 to finish, lake looks 12-18” low. Beuatiful preperty, easy boat launch area. LOT’s of fish, nothing of any size this trip (they are in there!). Caught a couple on chatterbait right off 2 1/2ers, then it died. I parked in 3’ water and had a Ned rig working edge of the grass. After a few culls I got into a bunch of 2 1/2ers. I did have a fish ( I was using my spinning rig 8lb test) take drag as it hauled butt “out to sea”. It ended up getting me hung in a brush pile ( not visable above water) and broke me off. That was most likely the better fish of the day and was a lot larger than the slew of 2 1/2ers. I was Nedding 7-8’ water and that seemed the key depth for the day-almost.
After lunch caught a few of the brush piles, some of wich I noticed with my electronics! Lots of stuff you can not see,I think I found the sunken car there!
About 4 o’clock I tied on the stupidest swim bait I think I have ever purchaed, well it produced and took a beating. Between 4 and 5:30 it had seen 20ish angry 2 1/2ers to just shy of 3lb. I was casting 2’ water and bringi it through the dying lilly pads and blammo! There was a huge pair of cedar lay downs that easily produced 8. The rest seemed 50 yard either side. Last fish came from the pocket to the south of the boat ramp in the dying pads.
ALL fish were full to the gill of whatever they been eating, big ol’ bellies for the size. The fish are angry fighters here, I will be back!
Thank PWF and the land owners for providing a rewarding experience!
