I booked this property as soon as it was made available. My uncle (John Jordan) & I fished all day 10/30/2021.
The lake it self is a really good size lake. I would say the lake is down about 2-4 feet at the time of fishing. The water temp was 57 degrees almost all day. The lake is relatively shallow with grass all throughout the lake most of it being below the surface. Water color was pretty muddy with about 6-12in visibility. There is no boat to use on site and bank fishing is very limited. We met the owner of the property and he is super friendly! He gave us some of his fresh pecans that he had shelled and even helped us launch our boat. If you fish this property stop by his house and have a conversation with him, he would love it!
Now the fishing. Top water was no avail. Started at the dedicated launch area and worked our way around to where the old tank damn is with only one fish caught on a swim jig. We made our way inside the old tank where I started catching them on a Ned Rig while my uncle caught a few on a whacky worm. Once outside the old tank dam chatterbaits and spinnerbaits were the weapon of choice for the rest of the day. We caught 50 or 60 between the both of us and the majority of those were caught on either a pumpkin spinnerbait or a white chatterbait. Biggest fish of the day was a 5 pound 13oz fish caught on a pumpkin spinnerbait. Most of the fish we caught were in the 2-3 pounds range and fought very hard. We only caught maybe 3-5 dinks.
One note I will add is that with the owners permission we put our 14ft jon boat back on the trailer across from the dedicated launch area. This area drops off much faster than at the dedicated launch area and it was very easy to get the boat back on the trailer. I have highlighted this area in the picture below in black. We let the owner know how much easier it was he said that he would let people know this.
Thank you PWF for adding new lakes to our club and the super friendly landowners that make days like yesterday possible.
