First time out to Black Hat and it was a beautiful property.  Didn't get started until 230 and I fished hard. The water was very muddy and it was tough to get bites. The spinnerbait worked the best but I caught the biggest fish 6.9# on a shallow running crankbait. Water temp was 68 degree throughout.  The lake could use at least a couple feet of rain. Most fish came from the outside edge of the grass but the grass was scattered making it harder to fish. I didn't venture to the islands because the water was more muddy and shallow. I finished with 8 fish and culled 1. At the end I was rewarded with deer coming to drink at the water's edge near my truck. I got to get pretty close to them. Black Hat is a very nice property 👌. Thank you PWF and pond owners!

The fish were very healthy. They were footballs. There was quite a bit of shad breaking the surface but no schools of bass chasing them. Possibly there's too much bait because they weren't biting my lures lol. The aerators were not on.
