Forecast showed wind all day and sure enough we arrived just at sunup and the wind was already too much to run any walking topwater.  The grass is considerably down. Last trip in September there were areas near shore that came to the surface.  This time its bare from the shore till about 5 ft out and the grass appears to be turning brown. Deeper out there is still healthy green stuff but well below the surface.  Water was super clear from what I could see with wind and overcast conditions all day, probably 5 ft+.

We beat the bank by the boat and dock pretty hard and picked up 5.  Then jumped in the boat just to hitch a ride to the islands since the wind was too much to handle with an anchor.  All 3 islands have recently been mowed so it was great to be able to fish from and they’re big enough for 2 folks to not get in each other's way.  Picked up most of our fish from the big island closest to the dock.

Grabbed lunch on the dock and caught about 10 huge bluegill, every cast we’d get one which is fun on 6lb line and an ultralight rod.

Made our way to the north end dam since the wind was blowing everything that direction.  Coming across the lake the wind felt like it was gusting 30mph so limited our bait selection.  Chose the z craw trig’d and that was the ticket. I will say my Daiwa tatula sv tws reel was awesome in the wind. I only had one blow up with probably 100 casts.  Picked up a 6-7 more off the dam and we'd both had enough of the wind so called it a day at 2pm.

Had a few decent ones today in the 3lb range, pics below.

Albeit windy, looks like a fun day!  A great for solid bankfishing. That bass your buddy is holding on the dock looks really long and will be fun to see it again with a full spawn belly.
