First fall outing from 7 to 3 on Wednesday before the Astros game. Found the lake more than a foot high, still draining from last week’s rain & swampy around the edges, visibility mostly 1-2 ft.  Mr. Stanley says they got 10” and water level rose above top strand of barb wire fence along entrance road.  Caught fish in all areas of the lake, with largest numbers & sizes feeding close to shore.  Noticable drop in action when sunny skies replaced early clouds.  Calm wind with just a few periods of light breeze as the day warmed up.  Mama quail and her dozen chicks seemed to enjoy the weather too.
