A buddy and I got a late start to the lake but we're on the water by 8:00am.  Mostly overcast with temps getting up to 90 degrees by the time we left at 1:00 pm.  Launching the club boat is a little tricky with the ramp consisting of large angular rocks…...be careful not to twist an ankle.
Fished the West Bank back toward the trees but had no takers with plastics and top water.   It's a little mossy on the West Bank but the rest of the lake is clear with visibility 2-3 feet.   Tried back in the tress and picked up a few small ones mostly on soft plastic worms and beetle-spins.  As other reports have noted, most of the fish were in the middle, deep part of the lake and that is where we were most successful.   Caught maybe 30 total with 10 culls.  Had probably double that number of “hits” but these were probably small fish.  Most of the fish were in the 1-2 lb range but did catch a 4.5 (see pic) and 3.6 lb LMB.   Tried about everything in the tackle box but never found one lure the worked best.   All lures seemed to catch fish but nothing stood out as being more successful

It's a long drive from Houston (2 ½ hours) but a good addition to the club.
