Took my new son-in-law fishing (he is just learning to fish) out to Black Hat on Sunday morning. Arrived at 7 AM planned to fish the entire day. The lake was down at least 4 / 5 feet and 40% was not fishable. You could not get to the islands at all due to the low waterlevel and about 30 yards out the water was too shallow / weeds taken over. We fished the balance of the lake but with only 5 feet of water in the deepest areas and it being extremly cloudy fishing was very difficult for myself much less a begininger. The bites we did get were spread out across the lake and the few we did catch were extremly skinny accept the catfish. Its going to take a few heavy rains and some work to get the lake back to the shape it used to be in, I would avoid this lake for the next 3-4 weeks until we get some rain.

Weird, they must have drawn the lake down – I was there not too long ago and the water level seemed relatively normal and the weeds were mild/moderate.
