Took my wife and a friend to Butler Lake in Brenham on Saturday morning. First trip to this lake, very remote with lot’s of wildlife.  We arrived about 45 minutes late and did not get the boat in the water until 8am. We started casting at the boat ramp and followed the west bank, bite was on from 8am until 10am.  Most fish came from just outside of the weed line/mat. I stayed very busy taking fish off the line for my wife and opening the livewell for my guest to insert cull fish. The 5” senko type bait was responsible for majority of the larger fish which totalled 15 really nice bass in the 3LB and 4LB range.  Hard fighters, very healthy and good acrobats!  At 10:30am the fish shut off and we only caught one more bass (a 4lber) for last 1 ½ hours of fishing. By then sun was high and it was getting hot. We called it a day and were very happy with our results!
