Fished hard all day from dawn to dusk with fellow member Mark Daugherty with only a break for lunch in Glen Rose around 1:30.  Water was clear with 3+ feet of visibility and around 72-75 degrees.  Temp started off in the mid-50s and warmed up into mid-80s with sunny skies until late afternoon when some cloud cover showed up.  Wind was mostly light breeze with a few periods when it picked up for short periods.  We stared fishing along the dam and caught a few tiny fish early a fluke, and only 1 fish on the topwater Choppo.  We switched to swim jigs in the shallow grassy east side and landed a few nice ones.  The real action started when we switched to Tx rigged swimming worms (Gambler Burner in gold rush color and other natural shades).  We started catching multiple 2+ and 3+ pound fish in the timber, so this is where we spent most of the day.  Largest fish was a little over 4lbs, and top 8 fish were all over 3lbs by the end of the day.  Mark and I each hooked up and broke off what might have been our 2 best fish of the day because we couldln’t keep them out of the sunken timber...exciting and heart breaking at the same time.  While we culled 22 fish, most of them were healthy and close to 2 lbs.  We caught either tiny dinks (less than 10 inches) or large chunky fish that were close to the slot not very many in the middle.  Other worms used that caught numbers of fish were Berkley 10” Power Worm, Magnum Zoom Speed Worm and Zoom Z-Craw worm.  What an amazing day of fishing!
